Birdsong Cottage

A haven amongst the flowers

Come and stay at our beautiful little holiday cottage

Designed as a peaceful getaway and perfect base from which to explore the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which includes Tintern Abbey, Monmouth, Symond's Yat and the Forest of Dean.  As you approach our secluded valley, you'll see long views across the Usk valley towards Raglan and its historic castle, only 5 miles away.  Backed by the Sugar Loaf mountain, just 10 miles beyond lies Abergavenny, gateway to Wales, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons.

We are close to Abergavenny with it's renowned food festival and have a wide selection of wonderful restuarants in the area, many Michelin starred, as well as local pubs and eateries.

With no street lights or nearby houses Birdsong Cottage has a South facing garden and allows wonderful views of dark skies at night to see the stars.

Great for walking, cycling and exploring the area offers places of historical interest from Roman through to the industrial revolution and everything inbetween.

Or you can just sit and relax....

Birdsong Cottage

Welcome to our beautiful little holiday cottage.  A dreamy escape from the world.  Quiet, pretty and surrounded by gardens and flower farm, Birdsong Cottage nestles into the hillside with our courtyard in front and it's own private south facing garden.

Two double bedrooms are available with kingsize beds and an en suite bathroom for one and the other bedroom is on the mezzanine and has it's own bathroom on the ground floor.  Tastefully decorated throughout with gorgeous Turkish tiles and Moroccan hand basins in the bathrooms.  Underfloor heating is run off solar panels through an air source heat pump and the whole cottage has been designed to look beautiful and be hugely comfortable without hurting the planet.

A compact food preparation area which allows for the making of light meals comes complete with a twin hob, combination microwave, kettle and toaster and mini fridge.

A comfortable sitting room with log burning stove and subtle lighting makes this a wonderfully cosy space in the evening with shuttered windows looking out onto the garden and courtyard.  There is free wifi with super fast broadband so although you are in the remote wilds...you are also completely connected to the rest of the world.  You can park your car just outside the property and soon there will be electric car charging available.

Also available is a sauna (run off solar panels).  A beautiful space where you can totally relax and work up a sweat without moving.  Great for cardiovascular health and many other benefits with a cold shower outside for the full effect!  There is an outside seating area for the summer evenings when all you want to do is sit back and listen to the birdsong.  And that is why the name....we have an extraordinary number of song birds in the garden and even if you are not interested....you will find yourself wondering...'what is that little bird?'

Birdsong Cottage sleeps four adults in two king size beds and costs £190 per night.
